Sister Mary Anne McDonagh
In 1989, Sister Mary Anne established a food pantry, collecting and distributing food donations with the assistance of volunteers. Since 1995, the Holy Redeemer Jersey Shore Food Pantry has been a certified member of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, providing nonperishable food items to more than 700 sick, elderly, and impoverished individuals in the Cape May County area.
Sister Mary Anne’s Giving Spirit Lives on Through Her Family’s Service:
Mary Theresa Morrissey
Mary Theresa Morrissey was more than a devoted sister to Sister Mary Anne McDonough—she was her biggest supporter. When Sister Mary Anne joined the Holy Redeemer, Mary Theresa was right behind her, becoming a beloved presence among the Sisters. She, along with her husband and children, embraced the community, attending Mass, lending a hand, and making lasting memories.
After Sister Mary Anne’s passing in 2012, Mary Theresa took the lead in continuing their family’s deep involvement in the Klassic. A dedicated committee member, she was known for her warm smile, infectious energy, and signature raffle ticket sales, often accompanied by a few playful heckles.
Though Mary Theresa returned home to God in 2022, her spirit—along with that of Sister Mary Anne and Kevin Morrissey—lives on at the Holy Redeemer Golf Klassic, where her kindness, joy, and generosity are still deeply felt.
Kevin Patrick Morrissey
The 2024 tournament was held in part to honor the life and memory of Kevin Patrick Morrissey. Kevin was a husband, a son, a brother, a cousin, and a friend. He was also an integral part of the Klassic.
Kevin joined the board in 2015, where he made an immediate impact. He loved the Klassic and would always say that the Klassic weekend was one of his favorite times of the year. Living with purpose, Kevin donated his time and efforts – bringing in new technology, more players, and an inspiring attitude. Although his golf game was inconsistent (whose isn’t) he always played with the idea that we were helping our community.
